What does it mean to be rich? Well, to be
rich can simply mean to have things needed to make life easier. Or let us say
to be rich is having great and wonderful treasures and valuable goods of the
world, like gold, silver, diamond etc.
Money
does not mean you are rich. Your wealth is not counted according to the amount
of money you have in your bank account or at hand, it is counted according to
visible things which you possess. The richest man in the world as at now Bill Gates, worth $76bn according to Forbes. It does not mean that he has $76bn in
his account but what he possessed or his assets worth that amount.
The
origin of your money is also a source of your wealth. If you have a good source
of earning money, then you're rich. Wealth is in level, some are rich to the
extent of having a car, a house and been able to feed himself and his family.
While some are rich to the extent that they have cars, houses, company with
workers paying salary to and so on. Someone like this is helping not only
himself and his family but other people around him. Some are rich to the extent
of affording expensive cars, private jet, yacht, boat, and have many companies.
And so on.
I've
come to realize that money is not everything for real. Though you can use money
for virtually everything but there is something money or wealth cannot get for
you. You can have the fastest and most expensive car in the world, have
mansions all over the world and have everything you wanted with your money. But
what is the essence of having so much money and cannot get everything you need
and desire.
There is still one very important thing that
no one can get with money, if there is that thing you can't get with money,
then wealth can be worthless. Everything we counted as something in life is
nothing after life. How sweet will it be if you can buy IMMORTALITY with money.
I am very sure many rich men would have gotten it for themselves and their
loved ones.
But what a pity, it is impossible. We will
all die we know that, our life after death is there and this keeps troubling
our mind every day. No matter how long you live here you will spend more after
life. There are two things you will encounter after life and you have to choose
one, either you enjoy or you suffer. The enjoyment is “Life after Death” and
the suffering is “Death after Death”. Which do you prefer? But there is a
simple way to safe your dear soul for enjoyment after life. Remember money
cannot do this, but there is a Man who lives forever and will give you the
greatest of all Riches which is ETERNAL LIFE. His name is JESUS. He is ready to
take you into his kingdom. He is the Lord of the Kingdom where there is
everlasting enjoyment. If you've been with Him before and later left him
because of cares of the world, He is calling you to come back.
There
is always a chance for you as long as you are alive. But remember tomorrow is
not guaranteed, it is better you do that now by re-dedicating your life to Him.
Did you leave him because you want to be rich or what? No matter what the
reason, he have everything in abundance to give. He is the way to eternal life.
He said in John 14:6
“I
am the way and the truth and the life" He is the way to greatest of all
riches, he is the way to any door you might be knocking. He also said you
should seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and every other
things shall be added unto you (Matt. 6:33). What is the essence of gaining the
whole world and lose your soul to eternal damnation. Give all to Him and He
will give all to you. This is the greatest of all riches you can possess. Stand
firm in Christ Jesus.
