Developing The Habit Of Doing What is Right

If anybody should say doing the right thing is easy is telling a lie. The moment you choose to do what is good and right, everything in you and around you will rise against you for doing the right thing. This is because of the human nature; our body, senses, and our will desire carnal pleasures. For instance, the body wants sleep when you should be awake to do something important.

For some people, they desire sexual pleasure even though they know the person and the time are wrong. The urge for tobacco, alcohol, hard drugs etc are from one’s appetite in doing the wrong thing. So, whoever will do what is right must fight two major enemies: INTERNAL and EXTERNAL enemies. Always remember that man is the greatest enemy of himself. If you can conquer ‘self’, no power will be able to conquer you. The enemies within such as, impure thought, wrong imagination, anger, selfishness and many other evil things running through the heart of man.

The EXTERNAL enemies are people’s comments, people’s opinion, societal and family pressures etc. No matter how difficult doing the right is; it should be done and  must be done in order prepare a better future for us and our children to come.
The right things are not hidden from us; they are written in our heart. As long as you are born and grown up, you already know the dos and don’ts of how man should live perfectly doing what is right. No one can be justified on the basis of ignorance.

Do not always look for easy things. What you should go for should be the best. Never settle for the less. Do not always consider the easiest way out as the best. Doing the right thing pays, though, it may appear tough and difficult initially but you will laugh in the end. People may not understand you many may mock you and laugh at you but you will laugh last. You will be happy for the rest of your life.
