MEMORY VERSE: Examine
yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not
realize that Christ Jesus is in you – unless, of course, you fail the test?” 2
Corinthians 13:5
To appraise means to evaluate. It means to examine
performance in the light of stated objectives or goals. As it is in the
physical, so it is applicable in the things of the spirit. Hear what Paul
advised the Corinthians: ‘so, if you
think you are standing firm, be careful that you do not fall’ 1 Corinthians
10:12. The path to heaven is not only narrow, but slippery. Also, the path to
personal or corporate goal achievement is slippery. It is always very easy to
go off track. I believe there are goals and certain objectives you set for
yourself at the beginning of this year.
If I may inquire, how far have you gone in efforts towards
achieving them? Have you attained your set goal? How close are you to the goal?
It might surprise you to hear that there are people who did not even have any
goal. They just found themselves in the year, counting days and months without
any tangible expectation. I hope you are not like that, if you have
expectations or goals to achieve, by now can you boldly say you have
accomplished 80% of it? Which stage of its execution are you? If your answer is
no, why have you not been able to achieve them?
Find time to evaluate all your activities and objectives
from January till now. Where exactly did you deviate from your original plan or
goal? Remember, another year is coming. Make sure you get yourself well
organized before stepping into another year. For whatever reasons delaying your
accomplishment for this year till the next, is an indication of stagnation.
However, it is not too late; you still have some days left to do something in
line with your set goals. You can still get yourself organized and repackaged
for another year. The force of stagnation is broken over your life. Receive
divine strength to move forward in destiny.
