Joy Comes From Within

MEMORY VERSE: Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart! (Psalm 32:11)

Joy is very fundamental to human health and well being. In the atmosphere of joy, anything is possible. It triggers certain hormones in your body that will make your system function effectively. Now, do you know that no one can make you happy? Besides, nothing around you can ever make you happy. Every day we hear news of natural disasters, motor accidents, deaths, outbreak of diseases, social and civil unrests, a high level of insecurity to mention a few.

Nevertheless, in the midst of all these calamities, God commanded and insisted you must rejoice. To rejoice means to deliberately make oneself happy even in the midst of either pleasant or unpleasant life experiences and circumstances.

Everyone goes through similar or different experiences of life, just as you do. Thus, no one is qualified to make you happy except you decide to. The question now is;  why must you be happy? Here are some answers: it is in the mood of rejoicing that you can reminisce, count your blessings, see the goodness of God and sing praises to Him. Joy makes you concentrate less on your past failures, misfortunes and disappointments. Thus, it gives you inner strength to face the future and wait on God during your trying moments.

Joy is therapeutic: it triggers certain hormones in your body that rejuvenate your health and system. This makes you look prettier, younger and refreshed. Living in your yesterday or remembering your previous unpalatable experiences will constantly trigger a sense of frustration. Allow the past to go. Relief your mind of unnecessary burden and concentrate on your future. Today, your life will attract favour and assistance. You are exempted from tragedy. It is well.
